Terms of Service

1. What the Service is

Alar Finance is a personal-finance tracker: a web app, a Telegram Mini App, and related installable apps. You record expenses and income, categorise them, set budgets, scan receipts, optionally connect crypto wallets, and view reports. The free tier covers basic tracking; the paid tier (Pro) unlocks unlimited profiles, voice input, AI receipt scanning, CSV/Excel export, and more.

The Service is provided “as is”. We may add, change, or remove features.

2. Your account

• You must be at least 16 years old (or the digital consent age in your country).
• You must provide a working email or use a supported authentication provider (Telegram, Google, Apple, Facebook).
• Email accounts must complete the verification flow before access is granted. Twink / disposable-mailbox accounts are explicitly prohibited.
• You are responsible for keeping your password and any OAuth credentials confidential.
• You may have one account per natural person. Family or shared profiles inside one account are allowed.

3. Acceptable use

While using the Service you agree not to:

• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the Service.
• Scrape, crawl, or harvest data from the Service.
• Use the Service to launder money, finance terrorism, or commit any other illegal activity.
• Use the Service to harass, defame, or harm other users.
• Interfere with the Service's infrastructure, attempt to bypass rate limits, or run automated load tests without prior written consent.
• Use bots to create accounts.
• Resell or sublicense the Service.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules without prior notice.

4. Subscription, payment, refunds

4.1 Plans

• Free — basic tracking, limited profiles, no AI features. No payment required.
• Pro Monthly — $4.99 / month, billed every 30 days. 30-day free trial for new subscribers.
• Pro Yearly — $41.88 / year (approximately $3.49/month), billed annually. No trial.

Prices are quoted in USD and may be subject to local tax (VAT). Payment is processed by Stripe.

4.2 Auto-renewal

Paid plans renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel beforehand. We send a reminder by email and Telegram 24 hours before each renewal so you can cancel in time.

4.3 Refunds

EU consumers have a 14-day right of withdrawal for digital services that have not yet been performed. By starting to use Pro features, you expressly request and consent to immediate performance of the digital service, and you acknowledge that you thereby lose the right of withdrawal (Polish Consumer Rights Act, Art. 38(13)). The 30-day trial replaces a refund window for monthly plans.

If we charged you in error, or if the Service was unavailable for a material period, contact us — we will issue a pro-rated refund. Refunds are at our discretion outside of legally required cases.

4.4 Promo codes

Promo codes grant a specific period of Pro access (e.g. 30 days, 1 year, lifetime). They are non-transferable, one-time use per account, and may be revoked if abuse is detected.

4.5 Price changes

We may change subscription prices. We will give at least 30 days' notice by email before any increase. The new price applies from your next billing cycle; you can cancel in the meantime to avoid the new price.

5. Cancellation

You can cancel anytime from Settings → Subscription → Cancel subscription. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period — your Pro features remain until then. You can also resume a scheduled cancellation before the period ends.

If you delete your account (Settings → Danger Zone → Delete account), any active Stripe subscription is cancelled immediately and all your data is permanently deleted (see Privacy Policy §7).

6. Intellectual property

The Service, its design, code, brand, and content (other than your data) are owned by the Operator. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes.

7. Your content

You retain ownership of all data you enter (transactions, accounts, notes, receipts). You grant us a limited licence to host, copy, transmit, and display your data solely to operate the Service for you. We do not use your data to train AI models or for any other commercial purpose.

8. Disclaimer — no financial advice

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not guarantee that:

• The Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or perfectly accurate.
• Receipt scanning, voice transcription, or AI parsing produces correct results — always review the data before saving.
• Connected crypto exchange balances will always sync correctly.
• External data (exchange rates, crypto prices) is current or correct.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for any claim arising from or related to the Service is limited to the greater of:

• The amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or
• €100.

We are not liable for:

• Indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages.
• Lost profits, lost data, business interruption.
• Losses due to your decisions based on Service data, including investment losses.
• Acts of third-party processors (Stripe, Brevo, Groq, Cloudflare, Telegram) beyond our control.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under Polish or EU law (e.g. for fraud, gross negligence, or harm to consumers' statutory rights).

10. Termination

You can terminate by deleting your account at any time. We can terminate or suspend access if you breach these Terms, with notice when reasonably possible. Any active subscription is cancelled at termination; no refund is due except as stated in §4.3.

11. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by Polish law. Disputes shall be resolved by the courts competent for the Operator's place of residence (Kraków, Poland). EU consumers retain their right to bring claims in their country of residence under mandatory consumer protection rules.

EU consumers may also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. For material changes we will notify active users by email or in-app banner at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
